Dependencies and External Requirements

This section contains a synopsis of the dependencies and other requirements for the Database toolkit components.

Database<ToolKit> Client

Build Dependencies

Network<ToolKit> - Used to establish network connectivity.
Streaming<ToolKit> - Used for portable communication and object streaming.

Local External Requirements

None - No ODBC environment needs to be present on the client machines.

Remote External Requirements

ODBC 3.51 database driver - Database<Toolkit> Client is compatible with ODBC 3.51 or later drivers.

Database<ToolKit> Server

Build Dependencies

Network<ToolKit> - Used to establish network connectivity.
Streaming<ToolKit> - Used for portable communication and object streaming.
Thread<ToolKit> - Used for multi-threading.
Foundations<ToolKit> - Used for event dispatching.

Local External Requirements

An ODBC Driver Manager - The operating system where the server is built and running must have an ODBC environment installed.
ODBC 3.51 database driver - Database<Toolkit> Server is compatible with ODBC 3.51 or later drivers.
